One of the tragic casualties of the lesser RG purge is La Gloria Cubana Medaille d’Or No.3
The cigar I’m examining today is available in two different packaging styles: a Boite Nature box of 10 and an 8-9-8 Box of 25.
In 2001, the box of 10 was eliminated, and the vitola was eliminated nine years later.
This cigar’s smooth, light brown wrapper has a notable quantity of small plumes throughout.
Although this is not a characteristic of the thin La Gloria, this one has several visible veins,
and the wrapper is placed correctly.

The opposite is true for this cigar as it is for a 60+ RG cigar and the surprise of how absurdly enormous it is when you grasp it in your palm.
The 28 RG cigar feels delicate, and I’m holding it almost reverently, which isn’t appropriate for larger cigars.
Despite this, the Slim Panatela is a relatively robust little cigar that is strong to the touch and free of any soft places.
Although it might be a touch more in the barn than the yard,
the aroma of the cigar has characteristic Cuban elements of a grassy barnyard aroma,
with hay and leather aromas also coming through.
The pre-draw is a touch tense and leaves on my tongue flavours of sweet raisins and hints of cinnamon.
