The Habanos S.A. cigar company has a limited-edition release called the San Cristóbal de La Habana 1519 Humidor.

The cigar, which is a new double robusto vitola called the Roque,

is 6 7/10 inches (170mm) long and has a 57-ring gauge inside the humidor.

A total of 500 humidors with 100 cigars each are being made, for a total annual production of 50,000 cigars.

Each is equipped with a unique variation of the company’s custom bands that denotes the city’s 500th-anniversary celebration.

The San Cristóbal de La Habana 1519 blend is medium to full-bodied,

with a complex flavor profile that includes notes of spice, leather, and earth.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the San Cristóbal de La Habana brand,

which was introduced in 1999 as a new brand honoring both Christopher Columbus and Cuba’s most well-known city.

The line’s initial vitolas were given the names of the colonial forts that guarded the city;

however, it has since grown to include the Prado, a major avenue connecting the Capitolio and the Malecón,

as well as a series of cigars introduced in 2004 and named for some of the city’s most illustrious and significant streets.
