It is based on a 12-year cycle, with each year of the cycle being associated with a different animal sign. The rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig are examples of these signs. On February 9th, 2013, the last Year of the Dragon came to a conclusion.
