We recently got our hands on a few preview samples at the Festival del Habano XXV. First, the size is absolutely perfect. It measures 6 inches (152 mm) by a 53 ring gauge. In the Cuban factory naming system, this is the famous Sobresalientes vitola.

You might remember this format from the 2016 Edición Limitada Capuletos. However, you will not confuse this new release with past versions. The packaging is completely unique.

Packaging: Every sleek Romeo y Julieta Amantes box of 20 cost will be worth it for the presentation alone.

When we lit this cigar, the craftsmanship immediately stood out. The draw was effortless. Right away, rich notes of cedar and sweet cream coated the palate.

As it burned into the second third, the flavor evolved beautifully. We noticed subtle layers of cocoa, leather, and bright dried fruit. It sits at a solid medium strength. The balance is incredible, offering a smooth and deeply aromatic experience from start to finish.

Habanos S.A. has not officially stated the exact production numbers. However, because it celebrates a 150th anniversary, stock will likely be highly restricted.

Altadis U.S.A. announced a separate non-Cuban 150th Anniversary line made in the Dominican Republic. The Amantes, however, consists purely of authentic Cuban tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region.

This historic release is bound to sell out rapidly. Connoisseurs are already lining up to secure a Romeo y Julieta Amantes box of 20 cost before prices skyrocket.
